YWCA Jamestown and Shults Subaru-Operation Warm - Lauren P
YWCA Jamestown and Shults Subaru Jamestown teamed up once again to support children in our community by giving away 120 pairs of kids' shoes through Subaru's Operation Warm initiative. Along with shoes, children also received socks to help keep them warm and comfortable. More than 50 children attended in person, with many others signed up through schools or local pick-up options. The smiles and gratitude from children and parents alike made this event a true success—especially for families facing financial hardship. Staff and volunteers heard the excitement from the children in the community about their new shoes. Children ran excitedly to measure their feet, and had staff/volunteers assist with finding proper sizes and seeing which colors were avaible. Alost of excitement was the options the children had in regard to colors. The shoes were stylish and had great options that everyone seemed to love. Parents thanks staff numerous times for being able to host this event as most of the participants were unable to purchase shoes for their children due to hardships. It was not uncommon that the kids told staff their old shoes "were too tight, had holes, hurt when they walked" etc. When trying on the shoes, staff and volunteers saw relief when the kids felt the difference with new, fitting shoes. Most of the children give their shoes a "test run" and tried them out throughout the gymnasium to ensure they fit just right. the joy in and appreciation in both the children's and parents faces will be an every lasting memory for all those involved.
More Than Meals: 13 Years of Caring for Chautauqua County Seniors - Barrie Y
Through the last 13 years, the “Share the Love” partnership between Shults Subaru and Jamestown Meals on Wheels has raised more than $180,000 to help feed senior citizens in Chautauqua County, NY. That funding helped get more than 35,000 meals directly into the hands of area seniors. These seniors are homebound. Many of them are handicapped. Jamestown Meals on Wheels can serve nutritious meals to these seniors each day, which allows the seniors to remain happy and healthy in their homes, and not in a more-expensive hospital or nursing home. Many of the seniors live alone, which makes the daily delivery and visit by a volunteer or other delivery person even more important. We get to talk with seniors, and make sure they are safe. Plus, any change in a senior’s health status can be found right away, and communicated with the proper emergency authorities or family. Without “Share the Love” there would be Chautauqua County seniors going without food, and who wouldn’t be able to live safely in their own homes.
Storm - Chautauqua County Humane Society - Brian P
Storm was rescued from a cruelty case; this brave girl spent her early life outdoors with little kindness or comfort from people. Storm was taken to the Chautauqua County Humane Society and was surrendered. It was determined that she would need time in a foster home, so she could build her confidence and learn to trust people. In her foster home she received the love and care that made her blossom. Thanks to the generous Subaru Loves Pets grant and Shults Subaru, Storm's adoption prep was covered, and she was made available. Her foster Mom, who showed her the proper love and attention to make her ready for adoption, fell in love and adopted Storm! And we can confidently say, she will live happily ever after!

Wrapped Up in Love-UPMC Chautauqua Hillman Cancer Center - Megan B
On a brisk morning in Jamestown, NY, the infusion suite at UPMC Chautauqua Hillman Cancer Center was already humming with quiet resilience. Patients arrived one by one, some alone, others with loved ones, each carrying the weight of a diagnosis that had changed their lives. But on this particular day, something was different. As part of the Subaru Love Promise, a delivery of soft blankets had arrived from Ed Shults Subaru staff—each one a symbol of warmth, comfort, and care. These weren’t just blankets. They were gestures of compassion, woven with hope and delivered with love. For Mary, a retired schoolteacher undergoing her third round of chemotherapy, the blanket she received brought tears to her eyes. “It’s not just the warmth,” she said, clutching it close. “It’s knowing someone out there cares enough to send this. It makes me feel less alone.” Across the room, James, a father of two battling stage IV colon cancer, wrapped his blanket around his shoulders and smiled for the first time in days. “It’s like a hug I didn’t know I needed,” he said. “It reminds me that I’m not just a patient—I’m a person, and people care.” For the staff at Hillman, the blankets became more than gifts. They became tools of healing. Nurses began offering them during intake, using them to start conversations and build trust. Social workers saw patients open up more easily, comforted by the unexpected gesture. And for patients, the blankets became cherished companions—taken home, brought back for each treatment, and held close during the hardest moments. By the end of each year, every blanket finds a home. But the warmth they brought lingered. Subaru’s Love Promise does more than deliver comfort—it delivers connection, reminding everyone at UPMC Chautauqua Hillman Cancer Center that love truly can be the most powerful medicine. Thank you, Ed Shults Subaru!!! Wrapped Up in Love-Staff and Patients at UPMC Chautauqua Hillman Cancer Center
Shults Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Karen D
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Jamestown, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Shults Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Shults Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/15/2025, Shults Subaru donated 120 shoes/socks to YWCA Jamestown. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
YWCA Jamestown and Shults Subaru - Lauren P
The YWCA Jamestown was able to team up with Shults Subaru to provide 125 pairs of shoes for kids in need in Jamestown NY. From the initial conversation to the end of the event, Shults Subaru was an amazing partner to work with. Everything went smooth and we were able to host a successful event. Unfortunately, the weather in Chautauqua is often unpredictable and we were hit with a snow storm the morning of the event. Luckily throughout the day the roads were cleared and we were able to pass out 63 pairs of shoes to children in need. The next day an additional 17 pairs of shoes were handed out to children who were pre-registered and non registered for the event. Staff and volunteers were greeted with appreciation from families who were recipients of this events and commonly heard "you don't know how much of a reliefs this is, we couldn't afford new shoes, thank you so much." It has been a great pleasure to team up with Shults Subaru for the second year in a row and help the community.
CCHS/Shults Subaru Team For 2024 Subaru Loves Pets - Brian P
Shults Subaru and the Chautauqua County Humane Society teamed up again in 2024 for the Subaru Loves Pets event that happened throughout the month of October. The generous $4,000 grant through the Subaru Loves Pets program that was obtained through Shults Subaru, covered the adoption preparation costs of all the adoptable animals that came through the shelter during October. This includes spay/neuter, microchips, vaccination, and flea medicine for dogs and cats. Shults and CCHS celebrated with a special Subaru Loves Pets adoption day at both locations. 7 pets went home that day, including a dog named Smiley, smiley had been at CCHS for about a month, and was very shy. A lady and her two daughters came in to the Shults Subaru dealership and he actually went to greet them! He was rubbing against them and so happy to meet them. They came looking of "just the right dog" and he was it! It was a situation where his level of shyness most likely would have made him a long stay dog, but he found his family quickly becuase of this partnership. You just never know when that love will strike - and it did that day for Smiley and his new family.
Love for Jefferson - Heidi S
Some of our teachers at Jefferson Middle School received a wonderful donation and materials from Shults Subaru. Our team is so grateful to be able to use the donations and learning kits to help our students achieve success in their educational careers. Thank you Subaru!
Jamestown High School Personal Finance Students Visit Shults Subaru - Beverley L
JHS Personal Finance students visited Shults Subaru October 1, 2024 On October 1, 2024, Personal Finance students from Mrs. Schultze’s JCC/JHS College Connections BUS 1610 classes traveled to Shults Subaru. JHS students met with Darren Hills, Store Manager, Austin Harmon, Business Manager, and Bev Lubi, Customer Experience Manager who provided learners the steps to purchasing a vehicle. Ms. Lubi reviewed the Subaru Forester’s window sticker and the essential information detailed on the document: MSRP Base Price, extra options, city/highway MPG, safety ratings, and more. Mr. Hills pointed out the significance of each automobile’s VIN number, and the importance of researching a pre-owned vehicle’s past history. In addition, she highlighted how Shults Subaru is more than just a car company and described our Subaru Love Promise commitment through partnerships with local charities and not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Harmon created two financial simulations for JHS students based on purchasing or leasing a new Subaru vehicle. The one variable that made a dramatic difference in the loan payments is a person's FICO® Score. Learners compared two different FICO (credit) scores: 568 versus 729. The difference in interest on the loan for a person with 568 FICO score (10.85%) versus a 729 FICO score (3.69%). Darren Hills, Austin Harmon, and Bev Lubi enabled students to walk through a car buying process in a real world setting! Shults Subaru provided each JHS student with a dog toy in support of: October 22nd Subaru National #MakeADogsDay and were invited to attend our Subaru Loves Pets event on October 19th.
